Before any pressing happens, the core is assembled, veneer sheets layered and aligned into an 8x4 ft panel using our Core Composer.
The assembled core panel goes through a cold press machine and pressure is applied at room temperature, no heat involved.
Before you can cure the glue, the layers need to sit still. Cold pressing squeezes out trapped air, aligns the veneers tightly, and gives the adhesive its initial "tack", enough hold to keep everything in place for the next stage.
The same panel now goes through a hot press: heat and pressure applied together.
This is where the adhesive actually cures. Heat activates a full chemical bond between every layer, driving out residual moisture and fusing the veneers into one solid structure.
Mat Ply on its own isn't the finished product, it still needs a face
veneer for surface strength and finish. This is where Gurjan face
comes in: a dense, durable hardwood veneer known for its fine grain
and strength, applied to both sides of the mat ply.
After
which the panel goes back into the cold press followed by hot press
this time to seat the Gurjan face veneer against the mat ply core.
